Martial Arts training in preschools is an optimal age to learn about
stranger-awareness. In todays society, there is a rise in child
abduction, kidnapping, and exploitation. Many of these cases have
unfortunately occurred in parks and playgrounds during daylight hours,
when we think are children are safe.. When this age group is asked
what a stranger looks like, the most typical response is a scary man
with a mask and dark clothes. They are not educated that a stranger
is anybody that they dont know: an aunt, an uncle, a teacher, or
neighbor. Today, many abductions are being committed by strangers
that fit this description of a ’safe’ person. Abductors more often
prey on this age group, because they think that the kids are not
educated of what a stranger may look like. With this Martial Arts
training in your preschool, your students will learn who strangers
are, understand how to limit exposure to strangers, and what to do and
say if a stranger were to approach them.
