Since we’ve opened, we’ve been dedicated to changing the lives of people one person at a time, through martial arts, education and coaching. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members. We take pride in creating an environment for individuals to achieve, develop and succeed in their personal goals.
We strongly believe that martial arts can be for everyone, regardless of age, gender or experience levels. Throughout all of our programs, students will not only learn the necessary skill sets to protect themselves, but will also develop their leadership skills and build Black Belt character. We stand behind our realistic and practical approach, confident it will enable every member to achieve greatness and live their best life.

Master Scott Magdycz - Owner & Master Instructor
Beginning his martial arts training in 1988, Master M earned his 6th-degree black belt in June 2017, and was awarded his Master-ship in July 2018. He’s achieved many personal and professional milestones in his Martial Arts career. After managing an ATA school in Delaware for over 15 years, he pursued his dream of school ownership and opened ATA Martial Arts of Royersford in February 2010. He has instructed thousands of students, earned certifications for instruction and tournament judging, and earned Delaware State Champion titles on multiple occasions in forms, weapons, and sparring. He has his BS in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Delaware.
Becky Magdycz - Co-Owner & Operations Manager
Mrs. M is the co-owner and Marketing Director of ATA Martial Arts of Royersford. She began her martial arts journey in 2004 and earned her 1st Degree Black Belt in 2007. She is a Legacy Team Member and a Level 1 Certified Judge. She and Master M took over ATA Martial Arts of Royersford in 2010 and is currently the Operations Manager for ATA Rofo. She and Master M have 3 daughters who have all trained at ATA since they were old enough to join our Tiny Tigers program: Ava, Clare and Nora who are all 3rd Degree Black Belts. Mrs. M studied Elementary Education at Wilmington University.
Mike Benton- Instructor
Mr. Benton practiced Taekwondo in his 20’s and returned to the mat at the age of 49 as a new student to the ATA. He is currently a 4th Degree Black Belt, Level 3 Certified Instructor and a Level 3 Tournament Judge. He’s also a 2-time State Champ and a District Champ. Mr. Benton really enjoys teaching our adult students where he is able to use his experience as an adult student to help them to learn, grow and perfect their technique. Although he’s been training for a while, he still loves to learn new things and is always seeking out opportunities to expand his skill set. Mr. Benton also enjoys being able to train and compete at tournaments with his daughter Emily who is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and has earned the titles of District, State and World Champ in the ATA’s Special Abilities Division.
Jacob John- Instructor
Mr. John is a 4th Degree Black Belt. He started his Taekwondo journey in the Martial Arts Kids program! He teaches our Martial Arts Kids and Adults program as well our Legacy students. He is a Level 3 Certified Instructor and a Level 3 International Judge. He is also a coach for our Team Sparring team.
Ava Magdycz- Instructor
Ms. M is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and has been training since she was 3 years old in our Tiny Tigers Program. She specializes in teaching our color belts, red/black belts and our sparring classes. She enjoys competing at Inner School, Regional, National and World Tournaments and is currently ranked in the State in multiple events. She is a Level 2 Certified Instructor and is a Level 2 International Judge. Ms. M is also a coach for our Team Sparring Team. Ms. M is a high school senior and is committed to West Chester University to study Sports Medicine next year.
Ben Seeger - Instructor
Mr. Seeger started his Taekwondo journey in 2019 as part of our Martial Arts Kids Program. He is currently a 1st Degree Black Belt, Level 1 Certified Instructor and a Level 1 International Judge. Mr. Seeger is part of our Tournament Team and has won multiple State and District titles and is also a World Qualifier for the 2023-2024 Tournament Season.
Margaret Orler - Instructor
Ms. Orler began training in 2017 in our Martial Arts Kids Program! She currently is a 2nd Degree Black Belt. She is our head instructor of our Tiny Tiger Program. She is a Level 1 Certified Instructor and is a Level 2 International Judge. Ms. Orler is also a coach for our Team Sparring team. Ms. Orler is currently a high school senior and is committed to Montgomery County Community College to study Elementary Education.
